Modern MEP design in Autodesk Revit – how do BIM Ally and MOIIB educate engineers of the future?

The dynamic development of BIM technology has made the design of MEP installations in Autodesk Revit a standard in the construction industry. However, the key question is: how to effectively implement modern tools and optimize the daily work of engineers? BIM Ally experts answered this question during the training “Modern MEP design in Autodesk Revit using non-standard tools”, which took place on March 10, 2025. The event was organized in cooperation with the Mazovian District Chamber of Civil Engineers (MOIIB) and gathered 72 participants – both beginners and experienced specialists. The meeting was led by Norbert Lewko, BIM Director at BIM Ally, certified Autodesk Revit instructor and expert in the field of design process automation.
MEP in Revit – challenges and solutions.
During the training, special attention was paid to the effective organization of work in Autodesk Revit and the integration of MEP models with other industries. These issues are crucial in the context of increasingly complex construction projects, where inter-industry synchronization determines the success of the investment. “Revit is a powerful tool, but its effectiveness depends on the right approach to modeling and the ability to use available tools. We still see that many engineers spend too much time on manual operations that can be automated,” noted Norbert Lewko.
Key issues discussed during the training:
✅ Basics of MEP modeling – how to properly organize a project, use families and manage BIM data.
✅ Teamwork in the BIM environment – how to properly integrate architectural and installation models to avoid collisions.
✅ Automation in Autodesk Revit – how to eliminate manual activities and speed up the design process.
Witas MEP Toolbox – technology that changes the approach to MEP design.
One of the most important elements of the training was a discussion of WITAS MEP Toolbox – a breakthrough tool that automates and streamlines the process of designing installations in Autodesk Revit. Witas MEP Toolbox is a comprehensive solution created for MEP designers, which allows you to significantly shorten the time spent working on the model and improve its quality and consistency.
🔹 Rich BIM library – ready-made, optimized Revit families available immediately.
🔹 Intelligent design templates – reducing errors and streamlining workflow.
🔹 Advanced automation tools – eliminating the need to perform repetitive activities.
🔹 Generating consistent lists – guaranteeing precision and completeness of documentation.

Interaction and the need for practical workshops.
The training was not limited to presentations – active discussion and numerous questions from participants showed how important the issue of MEP design efficiency is. The practical applications of WITAS MEP Toolbox and work optimization methods in Autodesk Revit were particularly popular.
“Interest in the training topics was huge. We can see that MEP designers are ready to implement new tools that really improve their work. That is why we are already planning further events – this time in the form of practical workshops, where participants will be able to test the discussed solutions in real design scenarios,” emphasized Norbert Lewko.
Conclusions and future initiatives of BIM Ally and WITAS.
The training showed that MEP engineers and designers are increasingly reaching for BIM tools that help them save time and minimize errors. WITAS MEP Toolbox is an example of technology that fits into these needs, providing comprehensive support in working in Autodesk Revit.
What’s next?
📌 Organization of practical workshops that will allow participants to test WITAS MEP Toolbox in real projects.
📌 Development of tools for automating design processes in Revit.
📌 Further education of MEP designers in the field of modeling optimization in the BIM environment.
We thank all participants and invite you to the next trainings!
